The Origin Story — "Why Markopsy Exists"

Most people pick a side — psychology or marketing. I never could.

During my time working with agencies and exploring how different brands operate, I kept noticing the same thing: the campaigns that truly worked weren’t the most creative or the most expensive. They were the ones that understood people — built on how the human mind actually thinks, feels, and decides.

My psychology background gave me a lens that most marketers don’t have. And my marketing experience gave me something most psychology students never get — a real room, a real brand, and a real audience to test it on. The more I moved between both worlds, the more I realized nobody was talking about the connection between them in a way that was actually accessible. Academic papers were too dense. Marketing blogs were too surface-level. There was a gap.

Who I Am

I’m Vanshika — a psychology and marketing student who got tired of being manipulated by brands and decided to start writing about it instead.

Two years of internships, freelance work, and real campaigns taught me one thing: the best marketing doesn’t sell to people — it understands them. Every article on Markopsy comes from that belief, backed by both sides of the table – someone who has built campaigns and someone who has fallen for them.
